1.) Introduction

The objective is to contribute to the generation of economic development in the country by creating awareness amongst both parties employers and employees on labour laws, industrial relations, safety and health of employees as well as timely changes in economy and trade and zonal and international challenges which has to be faced due to globalization.

2.) Main functions performed by this Division

The Functions of this Division are classified under 4 primary fields.

•  Administrative and counseling (Organizing the administrative activities of the institute and         making proposals for the enhancement of the qualitativeness and efficiency of Service.)

•  Researches (to be engaged in both Governmental and non Governmental labour related             researches.)

•  To give instructions ( To give instructions to all relevant Divisions through the collection of         data and information required for Workers' Education.)

•  Creating awareness and educating.

The following programmes have been launched for the purpose of developing the skills not only of the two parties employers and employees but also of Government Offices and introducing Sound behavioral policies within a tri-partiate social patterns making them follow a legal process and thereby achieving the tendency towards an active society.
