Special Investigations Division is entrusted with the achieving Industrial Peace in Sri Lanka aimed at following objectives

•  Intervention on crisis situations in employer – employee conflicts in order to avert major     crisis at national level.

•  Identification of defaulting employers and recovery of statutory dues of workers.

•  Safety and hygiene of workers.  

Multi Disciplinary Inspections

Multi Disciplinary inspections are conducted by a team of officials from the following divisions and the objective of these inspections is to cover all aspects of non-compliancy at the same time also emphasis is laid on it's role as a (tanblabr) rather than a prosecutor
